This includes a color palette of only 4 colors and controls that were compatible with that of the GameBoy.  While challenging, I was able to complete this build within 5 days and post it with about 4 hours to spare.  If you want to try the game you can see it <a href=\"https:\/\/shakirus.itch.io\/wing-strike\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I learned a lot along the way to making this, and while my artistic skill isn&#8217;t where I would like it to be, I am slowly improving on Pixel Art assets.  I find that the lack of variety of colors helped with sparking creative ways to display contrast on my graphics and allowed me to focus more on the gameplay itself.  I also was able to make some music that was done in a chipset style thus adding more authenticity to the game.  Some of the text came out blurry for some reason (probably due to the small resolution of the GB 160&#215;144) but in the end I am happy with this game built over such a short amount of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you do decide to check out the game, I would appreciate any feedback provided as I continue on my game development journey! <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So I recently participated in another gamejam, this time with the theme of making a game in the GameBoy style of games.
